Established in 2005, Carexcell began with a clear and powerful purpose: to provide culturally safe, high-quality aged care services for older First Nations people living on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales. From inception, the organisation was built on the principles of empowerment, inclusion, and community-led care.
In 2008, Carexcell was awarded Community Aged Care Package licenses, which enabled the expansion of services across the Coffs Coast. Over the following years, Carexcell continued to grow steadily, bringing these vital supports online and ensuring older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people received respectful, personalised, and dignified care.
As Carexcell matured, so too did its mission. By 2016, the organisation had broadened its services to support people from diverse backgrounds and needs. New programs were introduced to assist individuals at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness, NDIS services, as well as veterans receiving home care through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
Our purpose is to connect, enable and empower people.
